Todos los nominados a los premios de la Visual Effects Society 2025 (VES)

La Sociedad de Efectos Visuales (VES, por sus siglas en inglés) dio a conocer a los nominados para los Premios VES 2025, una ceremonia anual que destaca la excelencia artística y la innovación en efectos visuales en cine, televisión, animación, comerciales, videojuegos y nuevos medios.

Dune: Part Two lidera las nominaciones en la categoría cinematográfica con siete menciones, mientras que las series Shogun y The Penguin empataron en el ámbito de series con cuatro nominaciones cada una. En el terreno de la animación, The Wild Robot sobresalió con cinco nominaciones.

“La creatividad, ingenio y pasión de los profesionales de los efectos visuales de todo el mundo se han unido para crear imágenes extraordinarias,” expresó Kim Davidson, presidente de la VES. “Los Premios VES son el único espacio que reconoce y celebra a estos destacados artistas en una amplia variedad de disciplinas, y estamos extremadamente orgullosos de nuestros nominados.”

Los nominados en las 25 categorías fueron seleccionados por miembros de la VES a través de 49 paneles, tanto presenciales como virtuales, realizados alrededor del mundo. El proceso de evaluación incluyó la revisión de imágenes comparativas de “antes y después” por al menos tres paneles de jueces.

“Ya sea mediante un entorno completamente inmersivo, personajes realistas o secuencias de acción impresionantes, los artistas de efectos visuales continúan ampliando los límites de la creatividad y transformando la forma en que se cuentan las historias,” afirmó Diana Colella, vicepresidenta ejecutiva de Medios y Entretenimiento en Autodesk, patrocinador del Premio Estudiantil VES-Autodesk. “Las propuestas estudiantiles de este año celebran el talento técnico y la creatividad de los futuros artistas de efectos visuales. Felicitaciones a todos los estudiantes nominados.”

Además de las nominaciones, la VES otorgará reconocimientos a figuras destacadas en la industria. Hiroyuki Sanada, protagonista de Shogun, recibirá el Premio a la Excelencia Creativa de la VES. Por su parte, Takashi Yamazaki, supervisor de efectos visuales, será galardonado con el Premio Visionario de la VES. Asimismo, la Dra. Jacquelyn Ford Morie, pionera en tecnología de realidad virtual e inmersiva, será reconocida con el Premio Georges Méliès.

Las nominaciones de los Premios VES 2025 se producen en un contexto en el que numerosos anuncios de premios han sido pospuestos debido a los incendios que afectan a Los Ángeles. Entre ellos, los comunicados del Gremio de Escritores y el Gremio de Productores. Incluso la Academia de los Premios Óscar anunció la extensión de su período de votación hasta el 19 de enero, postergando el anuncio de sus nominaciones hasta el 23 de enero.

La gala de los Premios VES promete ser, una vez más, una vitrina para el talento y la innovación que dan vida a las historias más impactantes en pantalla.
